Riyadh Swap Shop Returns in Its Third Edition

The Saudi Fashion Commission hosted Swap Shop in its third edition in Square 1’s ‘A Fashion House’ at Riyadh Boulevard City from 1 to 5 April 2023 from 9 p.m. to 1.30 a.m.
The event was held in cooperation with Sela and Cenomi Retail to promote sustainability concept and ethical fashion.
The event aims to raise public awareness of exchanging preloved used cloth items and accessories with other ones instead of only depending on buying every new.
Guests also had the chance to buy new items provided by Cenomi Retail.
CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission Burak Cakmak, stated that that the commission is working towards a sustainable future for the industry and seeks to involve consumers in this journey of circulating pre-loved clothing.
The event featured a number of workshops about tools of sustainability in the world of fashion.
It’s noted that the inaugural edition of swap shop was held in 2021, then the second one took place at Fashion Futures 2022 with over 1300 visitors, almost 1000 people swapping clothes and 5500 items brought to the Swap Shop.
The Saudi Fashion Commission aims at evolving the Kingdom’s thriving fashion industry by amplifying Saudi heritage and identity while responding to global needs.
Moreover, it sets new strategies and proposes new projects to enhance the sector sustainability, inclusion besides maximizing local talent, experiences, and competencies to increase its contribution to the economy.
